Dance Classes Taught and Descriptions
Ballet
Ballet is the backbone of all dance styles. To excel in other styles of dance ballet is a must.
This class includes correct technique along with proper French terminology.  (Pointe is
offered only by teacher recommendation.)
Jazz
An upbeat class where you will learn how to articulate all major body parts in isolation, so
that they can clearly produce accented rhythms in the dancing body.
Street Tap
An updated ‘swing’ on tradition tap dance that is incorporated with mainstream music like
Rock and Hip-hop.
Lyrical
This class is based on ballet yet moves more freely and is a poetic style of dancing.
Modern
An abstract form of dance with expressive movements based on African dance.
Hip-hop
An upbeat class that helps develop muscle coordination.  Dance style that is seen on many
dance videos.
Mommy & Me Creative Class for Ages 2-3
This class is good for the student who is not ready to separate.  Parents are welcome to sit
in on the class until the student is ready to be on their own. In this fun energetic class,
students will learn basic movement skills, intro to ballet,  awareness of rhythm and social
interaction, tumbling and creativity, with songs, games, and “out-side the box” thinking,
which allows for self-expression.
Creative Dance for Ages 3-4
This fun energetic class introduces basic movement skills, ballet, tumbling and creativity,
with songs, games, and “out-side the box” thinking, which allows for self-expression.
   Students must be potty trained for this class.  This Class will participate in our annual
spectacular.  
5-7years old Ballet/Jazz/Hiphop
Our 5-7  program is a dance adventure that involves movement skills, awareness of
rhythm, proper dance terminology and interaction with other students and dance steps and
combinations.
The basic foundation of ballet, jazz, and hip-hop technique will be taught.  The individual
instruction our dancers receive will give them the correct foundation and the fundamentals
for their physical and mental development.  
This class will participate in our annual spectacular.
Combination Classes
This program is designed for students who express a desire to dance to train for a career
or also for those who enjoy studying for fun and enjoyment.  Dance is an enjoyable activity
that can last a lifetime.   Our faculty is dedicated to enriching every dancers life with sincere
encouragement and personal guidance to help you achieve your individual goals. This
class will participate in our annual spectacular.
Gymnastics
Classes for all levels starting at beginner up to advanced.  Learn gymnastics steps and
then put them into routines.  Start with tumbling to back handsprings on our 2” thick mats
and move onto the balance beam.
Twirling
Classes for all levels starting at beginner up to advanced.  Learn twirling movements and
then put them into routines with some dance.

Dance helps students develop their motor skills, Improve balance, Develop social
behavior and creates self-confidence in a non-competitive environment.

Dress Code
No baggy clothing in any classes, this is important so the teachers can check proper
body alignment, which will help prevent injury.  The dress code is not an option it must be
followed.  You can choose to buy from a store or order from a discount site linked through
our web page.
Creativity Ages 2-4: Pink tights, pink ballet shoes (canvas or
Leather (no house slippers that look like ballet shoes, as these are
dangerous to dance in) and a blue or black leotard.  Skirts are
optional no shorts or shirts.  Hair must be worn back.
Combo Class Ages 5-7: Pink tights, pink ballet shoes (canvas or
leather) (no house slippers that look like ballet shoes, as these are
dangerous to dance in), and a pink or black leotard.  Skirts are
optional for ballet, and shorts may be worn for jazz.  Hair must be
worn back.
Combo Class Ages 8-10
For Ballet /Jazz/HH: Pink tights, pink ballet shoes (canvas or leather
split-sole), Tan (not suntan) jazz shoes (not sneakers) and a Forest
Green or black leotard.  Skirts are optional for ballet, and shorts may
be worn for jazz.  Hair must be worn back.
Combo Class Ages 11^
For Ballet /Jazz/HH: Pink tights, pink ballet shoes (canvas or leather
split-sole), Tan (not suntan) jazz shoes (not sneakers) and a
Burgundy or black leotard.  Skirts are optional for ballet, and shorts
may be worn for jazz.  Hair must be worn back.
Contemporary: Tan convertible tights, bare feet or Tan “footundeez”,
any color leotard.  Shorts optional.
Tap: Tan or Black tights, Black leotard, Shorts optional.  
Beg/Int Classes: Tan tap shoes. Mary Jane style
Advanced Class: Black tap shoes.  Oxford style
Hip-hop: Tan or Black tights, Black leotard, Jazz sneakers.  Shorts or
Jazz pants.
Gymnastics:  Any colored leotard.  Optional footless tights.  
(No baggy pants, shirts or skorts)
Twirling:  Light Blue Tank top, Black shorts.    Tan Jazz shoes. Hair
must be worn back. Tan Tights are optional.
Boys: White T-shirt, Black Gym shorts, sneakers for Hip-hop.


Rules and Regulations
Student Handbook
*All Students must be potty trained.
* A registration fee will be due upon signing up. Registration fees are non-refundable and
must be paid in order to be enrolled in a class.
* Tuition must be paid on time. Make checks payable to: Amanda Gring.
*To avoid confusion, your yearly tuition has been divided evenly into 10 equal payments
made Sept. through June. June lessons and all stage rehearsals for dance classes are
included with the 10 month payment plan. There is no deduction for vacations or short
months.  There is no extra charge for months with five class weeks.
*Automatic w/d will take place the first of the month.
*Monthly tuition is due the 1st of each month, to receive your early payment discount.  Any
payment made after this will not receive the discount and must pay the regular class fee.  
*Monthly statements and bills are only sent on past due accounts.
*Yearly tuition (Paid in Full) will receive a 5% discount and are due the first week of
classes. Please mark the student’s name on your checks.
*There are NO refunds or credits for missed lessons.
*Students are not allowed to drop classes for a month and then expect their place to be
held the following month with the exception of doctor excuses.
*All returned checks will be charged a $20 NSF fee.  
*Solo classes must be canceled 24 hrs in advance to be reimbursed or to allow for a
makeup class.
*Late Payments.    Unfortunately for payments that are 15 days past due, the student will
have to sit out of the class until the payments are paid in full.  
*The dress code MUST be followed.  If it is not followed the student may be asked to sit out
of the class. Pajamas can not be worn in any classes including gymnastics.  
*Private and Semi-Private classes are available upon request.  A private is $75 a month for
a ½ hr a week and a duo is $55/each a month for a ½ hr a week.
*Absences are discouraged.  If a student was absent due to any circumstances tuition will
NOT be reimbursed.  If an injury occurs or other medical condition a plan will be made.  Any
student missing more than 3 lessons during Recital time (Feb.-June) will be reviewed by
their teacher and Director to see if they are capable of performing in the show.
*Missed Classes can only be made up within 2 weeks of the missed date.
*Tardiness is unacceptable.  It is distracting if a student walks in late and disturbs the class.
*Costume balance will be split up into three monthly payments along with tuition, $25 for
October/student/class, $ 25 for November/student/class.  The balance of the costume cost
must paid before the winter holiday.
*If classes are canceled due to inclement weather the first class will not be made up or
reimbursed, any after that we will have makeup classes.
   ** The studio has the right to cancel for extreme winter weather conditions.  If you are
unsure whether there will be class due to inclement weather please call the studio 1 hour
prior to your class or check the local wfmz channel for studio updates scrolling across the
bottom.


*The studio will be closed for the listed holidays 2007-2008
May 12-16…………………….Picture Week

Our students will perform in our professional dance spectacular held at the Scottish Rites
Cathedral at the end of the year, in June.
These revues help each student gain poise, confidence and performance experience.  
Some of our students are training for a career, while others are studying for fun and
enjoyment.
